The reader is convinced that the difference in the graph between the prefixes of the next generation will be as small as those of the current generation.
Another generation, another series of players making weird statements on their favorite platform from the last iteration. The war… The war never changes.
Since the release of the Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 specifications, legions of self-proclaimed hardware experts have turned to the comment services to elaborate and communicate their questionable ideas to the public.
In my experience, most people don’t understand the importance of each area of console architecture. The object may be esoteric, but information is fairly easy to find on many technology-driven YouTube channels. Fortunately, despite the lack of visible evidence to compare the performance of the new PlayStation and Xbox, the current generation has a very visible hunch that can contain even the most cunning gamer.
By 2020, video analyses of games will be carried out everywhere on different platforms, although they often do not show any significant differences. The vast majority of comparisons with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 under the same name show that the Sony platform has an advantage. However, this is only a small part of the game that is played well.
A good example is the amazing Metal Gear Solid 5, where both versions of the console support the same detail, 60 frames per second, and both have no noticeable pop-in texture. The only difference is that the Xbox One version runs at 900p resolution, while the PlayStation 4 version runs at 1080p resolution. It is clear that a higher screen resolution leads to a lower yield, and the two versions are incredibly similar. But isn’t that strange? If you were to judge these prefixes solely on their technical properties, you would probably expect much more exaggerated results.
The CPU difference between the two consoles seems negligible, and nothing shows the small advantage of the Xbox. Gamers often mistakenly assume that the GPU performance can be accurately measured using the corresponding metrics. To apply the same broken logic to this generation, it seems that the PlayStation 4 has 50% more power in this area.
In addition, Xbox One’s DDR3 RAM has twice the bandwidth of PlayStation 4’s GDDR5. There is the infamous 32 MB ESRAM to take into account, but this relatively small additional cache certainly does not help to improve the RAM imbalance of the PlayStation 4.
Where exactly, on paper, do these enormous advantages of PlayStation 4 deliver extra performance in the real world? A slightly better solution? A slightly less significant drop in the student-teacher ratio? This is another example of falling winnings, and this trend continues towards 4K gambling.
The specifications of the next generation of paper consoles (with the possible exception of SSDs) show a much smaller hole on PlayStation 5 and Xbox One than on their older versions. Sony and Microsoft can boast that their consoles can handle 8K and send up to 120 frames per second for 4K games, although the global standard to aim for is probably 4K/60 frames per second.
Multi-platform games are generally designed to have the lowest common denominator, but according to these statements, the factor is not important. Assuming that both consoles are able to support what they aim, there will be no significant difference between them in multiplatform games, except what can be carefully investigated through video analysis. They are simply too comparable for a level of solution where differences of opinion are less and less pronounced.
The unique advantages of each of these materials will undoubtedly be used in the games for the first game, and for me personally, these games have always been a point of sale.
